“The path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, which shines brighter and brighter until full day.” — Proverbs 4:18

“For to the one who has, more will be given, and he will have an abundance.” — Matthew 13:12

“But the one who received the seed on the good soil is the one who hears the word and understands it.” — Matthew 13:23

Have you ever tried walking through your house in total darkness? You bump into furniture, stub your toe, maybe even trip over the dog. Life without direction feels the same. Proverbs 4 paints a picture of two paths—one lit by righteousness and another lost in darkness.

Jesus, in Matthew 13, uses parables to help people see that the Word of God is like a seed—only when it lands in open, willing hearts will it grow and bring clarity and purpose. God isn’t just calling us to hear His truth; He wants us to live by it, step by step, in the light of His wisdom.

THINK ABOUT IT

1. Two Roads, One Choice: Are you walking on the path that gets brighter or stumbling in the dark? God offers you a way that leads to life, peace, and growth. Which direction are your choices leading you today?

2. Soil Check: Jesus talks about hearts being like soil. Is your heart ready to receive what God is planting? Think about what might be blocking His Word from taking root—distractions, fear, or even doubt.

3. Grow with the Light: When you choose to follow Jesus, it’s not instant perfection—it’s a journey. Like the morning sun, His light grows in your life as you keep walking with Him. Are you letting Him light the way each day?
