“The woman Folly is loud; she is seductive and knows nothing… But he does not know that the dead are there, that her guests are in the depths of Sheol.” — Proverbs 9:13, 18 (ESV)

“But I have trusted in your steadfast love; my heart shall rejoice in your salvation.” — Psalm 13:5 (ESV)

“And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” — Matthew 28:20 (ESV)

Life is full of voices shouting for your attention. Some sound fun, exciting, or easy, like Folly in Proverbs 9, but they only lead to regret. Other moments feel heavy, like David in Psalm 13, who wondered if God had forgotten him. And then there’s the promise in Matthew 28—Jesus doesn’t just send us out; He promises His presence forever. These passages remind us that life is a constant choice between empty distractions and lasting truth, despair and trust, fear and bold faith. The question is: which voice will you listen to?

THINK ABOUT IT

1. Choose Your Influence: What voices or influences are loud in your life right now? Do they pull you closer to God or away from Him?

2. Trust Through Doubt: Like David, have you ever felt like God was silent? How can you choose to still trust in His steadfast love (Psalm 13:5) even when He feels distant?

3. Live with Purpose: Jesus says He is with you always. How does that promise change the way you face challenges at school, in friendships, or when you feel alone?

BOTTOM LINE

The voices you follow shape your future—choose God’s presence and truth over empty noise.
