“Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart. So you will find favor and good success in the sight of God and man.” — Proverbs 3:3–4

“She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” — Matthew 1:21

Ever feel like life is pulling you in a million directions? Maybe it’s the pressure to fit in, do well in school, or figure out who you’re even supposed to be. In moments like that, Proverbs 3:1–4 reminds us to hold on tight to love and faithfulness—not just in what we say, but in how we live.

And Matthew 1 zooms in on Joseph, a regular guy who chose to trust and obey God, even when it was hard. His part in Jesus’ story wasn’t flashy, but it was faithful. That’s big. It tells us that our choices, even quiet ones, matter more than we think.

THINK ABOUT IT

1. What’s written on your heart? Proverbs talks about writing love and faithfulness on the "tablet of your heart." What are you letting shape your thoughts and actions—God's truth or the world’s trends?

2. Faith over fear: Joseph had every reason to walk away from Mary’s pregnancy, but he chose to believe God’s bigger plan. Are you willing to follow God, even when it’s confusing or unpopular?

3. Favor that lasts: True success comes not from popularity, likes, or achievements, but from living a life that honors God. Are you chasing favor with people, or with God?

BOTTOM LINE

When you choose love, faithfulness, and trust in God—even in the small stuff—you’ll shine in ways that really matter. Like Joseph, your quiet obedience could be part of something way bigger than you can see right now.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank You for reminding me that faithfulness matters. Help me to hold on to Your love and truth, even when life feels confusing. Give me the courage to follow You like Joseph did, trusting that Your plans are always good. Help me live in a way that honors You and points others to Jesus. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
