“My son, do not despise the Lord’s discipline or be weary of his reproof, for the Lord reproves him whom he loves, as a father the son in whom he delights.” — Proverbs 3:11–12
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted… Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” — Matthew 5:4,10

Let’s be real—being corrected or going through tough times isn't exactly on anyone’s wishlist. Whether it’s a coach pointing out your mistakes, a parent calling you out, or a season of life that just feels unfair, it can feel like you’re being picked on.
But Proverbs 3:11–12 and Matthew 5 tell a different story: one where God’s correction isn’t punishment, but proof of His love. Jesus even says that people who are struggling—mourning, persecuted, or just trying to live right—are blessed. That’s a whole shift in perspective.

THINK ABOUT IT
1. Discipline = Love: When God corrects you, it’s not to shame you—it’s to shape you. Can you think of a time you felt challenged but grew stronger or wiser because of it?
2. Blessings in the Broken: Jesus says those who mourn or are persecuted are blessed. What if the hard things you're facing are actually helping you grow closer to God?
3. God’s Got a Plan: You may not see the purpose behind your pain right now, but trust that God is using it to build something better in you.

BOTTOM LINE
God’s discipline and your struggles aren’t signs He’s against you—they’re proof that He’s right there with you, helping you grow into who He made you to be.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, thank You for loving me enough to correct me and guide me, even when it's uncomfortable. Help me to see my struggles through Your eyes and to trust that You’re working for my good. Give me the strength to keep going and the faith to grow through it. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
