3-Year-Bible Reading: Proverbs 20:10–11; Psalm 83; Luke 19

Unequal weights and unequal measures are both alike an abomination to the Lord. Even a child makes himself known by his acts, by whether his conduct is pure and upright. —Proverbs 20:10–11

O my God, make them like whirling dust, like chaff before the wind. As fire consumes the forest, as the flame sets the mountains ablaze, so may you pursue them with your tempest and terrify them with your hurricane! —Psalm 83:13–15

When he drew near and saw the city, he wept over it, saying, “Would that you, even you, had known on this day the things that make for peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes.” —Luke 19:41–42

Have you ever been called out for something you thought no one noticed—like saying something rude under your breath, or pretending not to hear your parents ask for help? Proverbs 20:11 reminds us that even when we're young, our actions say a lot about who we really are. The way we treat people, how we act when no one’s watching, and the choices we make all show what’s going on in our hearts.

In Luke 19, Jesus weeps over Jerusalem because they didn’t recognize what would bring them peace. It broke His heart to see people missing the chance to truly know Him. And in Psalm 83, there’s a cry for justice—God sees every unfair and evil act, and He doesn’t ignore it. Put together, these verses challenge us to check ourselves: Are we living with honesty, kindness, and awareness of God's presence?

THINK ABOUT IT

1. Your Actions Matter: What do your choices say about your character? You may be young, but your actions still have meaning and impact.

2. Jesus Sees the Heart: Jesus isn’t looking for perfection—He’s looking for honesty, humility, and a heart that wants peace with Him.

3. Be Real About Right and Wrong: It’s easy to overlook “small” wrongs—like cheating a little or being fake to friends—but God cares about fairness and truth in all things.

BOTTOM LINE

God sees our hearts and our actions. Even when we're young, how we live matters. Choose honesty, pursue peace, and live in a way that reflects the love of Jesus.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank You for seeing me and caring about what’s in my heart. Help me to live in a way that honors You, even in the little things. Show me where I need to grow and help me choose peace, honesty, and love every day. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
