“Plans are established by counsel; by wise guidance wage war.” —Proverbs 20:18
“But as for me, my prayer is to you, O Lord. At an acceptable time, O God, in the abundance of your steadfast love answer me in your saving faithfulness.” —Psalm 69:13
“And Jesus said, ‘Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.’” —Luke 23:34

Have you ever been totally misunderstood or unfairly blamed for something you didn’t do? That gut-punch feeling can be the worst. In Luke 23, Jesus faced the ultimate injustice—He was innocent but still nailed to a cross. And yet, He forgave. In Psalm 69, David cries out to God from a place of deep pain, feeling mocked and overwhelmed.
And in Proverbs 20:18, we’re reminded that wise decisions and good plans come through seeking godly advice. Life can be confusing and painful, but these verses show us that God is with us in every part of the journey—from planning, to suffering, to forgiving.

THINK ABOUT IT
1. Plan with God’s Wisdom: Are you trying to make big decisions on your own? Proverbs tells us to seek wise advice. God often speaks through trusted mentors, parents, youth leaders, and His Word. Who are you letting speak into your choices?
2. Pain Has a Purpose: Like David in Psalm 69, it’s okay to be honest with God about your struggles. He can handle your feelings. What tough thing are you facing right now that you need to give to Him?
3. Forgiveness Over Revenge: Jesus forgave people who were literally killing Him. That’s next-level love. Is there someone in your life you’re struggling to forgive? How can Jesus' example help you take a step toward letting go?

BOTTOM LINE
Even when life feels unfair or painful, God calls us to trust His plan, cry out to Him honestly, and follow Jesus’ example of forgiveness.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, sometimes life doesn’t make sense, and it really hurts. Help me to trust You when things feel confusing. Teach me to seek wisdom, to be real with You in my struggles, and to choose forgiveness even when it’s hard. Thank You for showing me what love and strength really look like through Jesus. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
