We all want things to happen right now. Whether it’s getting that new phone, passing an important test, or seeing a situation change for the better, we often feel the pressure to fix everything on our own terms. But what happens when the timing isn’t right, or when the outcome isn’t exactly what we expected? Proverbs 20:22 reminds us that instead of rushing to fix things or take matters into our own hands, we are called to wait for God's perfect timing.

In Psalm 85, we see the psalmist crying out to God for restoration, trusting that only God can bring the peace and change they need. It’s a reminder that God is in control, and His timing is always better than ours. And in Philippians 2, we are called to adopt a heart of humility, looking out for others and serving them rather than always seeking our own way. It’s a message that teaches us to trust God, to wait on His plan, and to live with a servant’s heart, even when it’s tough.

THINK ABOUT IT

1. Trust God's Timing: What situations in your life are you tempted to rush? How can you practice waiting on God's perfect timing instead of forcing your own solutions?

2. Humble Yourself: Philippians 2 challenges us to consider others more important than ourselves. What does it look like to put someone else’s needs before your own?

3. God Brings Restoration: In Psalm 85, the psalmist asks for restoration. Are there areas in your life where you need God's healing or restoration? What does it look like to trust Him for that change?

BOTTOM LINE

God’s timing is always better than our own. Instead of rushing through life, we can trust Him to make things right in His time, knowing that He is always working for our good. Humility, patience, and trust in God’s plan will lead to the peace and restoration we long for.
