We live in a world that puts a lot of focus on outward appearances—how you look, dress, or perform on social media. But Proverbs 11:22 makes it clear that beauty without wisdom is like putting expensive jewelry on a pig—it doesn’t change what’s underneath. Real value comes from character. In Genesis 4, Cain's story reminds us that when jealousy and anger take over our hearts, it leads to destructive choices.
Meanwhile, Psalm 25 gives us a better way: asking God to lead us and teach us how to live. When we let God shape our character, we find purpose, peace, and direction, no matter what the world says is impressive.

THINK ABOUT IT
1. Character Over Looks: Do you spend more time caring about how you appear to others or how you appear before God? Why does Proverbs compare beauty without wisdom to a gold ring in a pig’s nose?
2. Check Your Heart: Cain’s anger came from comparison and rejection. What are some areas in your life where jealousy or hurt could be turning into something toxic?
3. Choose God’s Path: Psalm 25 is a prayer for guidance. Are you asking God to teach you His way—or trying to figure life out on your own?

BOTTOM LINE
Who you are on the inside matters way more than how you look on the outside. Let God shape your heart, and your life will reflect something truly beautiful—wisdom, grace, and love.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, help me not to focus only on what others see but on who I am becoming. Teach me Your ways so I can walk in wisdom, not pride or jealousy. Guard my heart and guide my steps. I want to reflect You in my words, actions, and choices. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
