“The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are bold as a lion.” — Proverbs 28:1

“Beware lest there be among you a root bearing poisonous and bitter fruit.” — Deuteronomy 29:18

“I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live.” — Deuteronomy 30:19

Have you ever made a mistake and tried to hide it, hoping no one would find out? It’s like living with a shadow always creeping behind you. Guilt and fear tend to do that. But Proverbs 28:1 paints a different picture—one of boldness, confidence, and peace that comes when we’re living in the light, not hiding in the shadows.

In Deuteronomy 29–30, God reminded Israel of the choice before them: obey and live with blessing, or turn away and face the consequences. That message still hits today—our choices shape our lives, and God wants us to choose Him, every time.

THINK ABOUT IT

1. What does boldness look like? When you live with integrity and stay close to God, you don’t have to live in fear. Being bold like a lion isn’t about being loud or fearless—it’s about being grounded in truth and knowing who you belong to.

2. Check the roots: God warns about a "root" that produces bitterness. Sometimes, small sins or toxic attitudes grow silently. Are you letting anything take root in your heart that could poison your faith or relationships?

3. Choose life: Life with God isn’t about following rules just to stay out of trouble. It’s about choosing what leads to joy, peace, and purpose. Every choice to obey Him leads to more freedom, not less.

BOTTOM LINE

When we walk with God, we don’t have to hide. His way leads to boldness, blessing, and real life. Choose Him every day—and live like someone who has nothing to fear.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank You for offering me life and blessing through Your Word. Help me to recognize the little things that pull me away from You and to choose what’s right, even when it’s hard. Make me bold like a lion, not because I’m perfect, but because I walk with You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
