When the righteous triumph, there is great glory, but when the wicked rise, people hide themselves. Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy. — Proverbs 28:12–13
And the Lord said to Joshua, “Today I have rolled away the reproach of Egypt from you.” — Joshua 5:9
On the seventh day they rose early… And at the seventh time, when the priests had blown the trumpets, Joshua said to the people, “Shout, for the Lord has given you the city.” — Joshua 6:15a, 16

Ever felt like you're facing a wall too high to climb? Maybe it’s anxiety, peer pressure, a habit you want to break, or just the stress of life piling up. In Joshua 6, God’s people faced the massive, fortified walls of Jericho. But they didn’t win with swords or strength. They obeyed God’s unusual instructions—march, wait, blow trumpets, and shout. The wall fell when they fully surrendered and trusted God’s way.
Similarly, Proverbs 28 reminds us that hiding sin or pretending everything's okay never leads to real success. Healing and mercy come when we confess, surrender, and follow God’s lead—just like the Israelites did before Jericho. In Joshua 5, they prepared spiritually before the battle. Surrender came before victory.

THINK ABOUT IT
1. God’s Plans Don’t Always Make Sense: Marching in circles probably seemed silly, but God’s strategy for Jericho wasn’t about logic—it was about obedience. Are you willing to trust Him even when it doesn’t seem to “make sense”?
2. Surrender Leads to Freedom: The Israelites had to deal with their past (like in Joshua 5) before they could move forward. What walls in your life need to come down through confession or surrender?
3. Obedience Opens Doors: The walls fell after they obeyed. Is there something God’s been nudging you to do that you’ve been putting off?

BOTTOM LINE
Sometimes, the biggest victories in life start with quiet surrender to God. Trusting Him, obeying even when it’s hard, and being honest about your struggles are the keys to breakthrough.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, help me trust Your ways, even when they don’t make sense to me. Teach me to surrender the things I’ve been holding onto and to confess the areas I’ve been hiding. I want to walk in freedom and see Your victory in my life. Thank You for Your mercy and love. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
