“It is not good to eat much honey, nor is it glorious to seek one's own glory.” — Proverbs 25:27
“Blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the law of the Lord!” — Psalm 119:1
“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’” — John 14:6

We live in a world that tells us to “put ourselves first,” “be our own truth,” and “chase the glory.” But sometimes, the more we focus on ourselves, the emptier we feel. Proverbs warns us that seeking our own glory is like eating too much honey—it might taste good at first, but too much will make you sick (Proverbs 25:27).
In contrast, Psalm 119 shows us a different path: the person who walks in God’s ways is blessed—truly happy and fulfilled. And John 14 brings it all together: Jesus Himself is the way, the truth, and the life. If we’re looking for purpose, confidence, and peace, He’s the answer—not our own success or fame.

THINK ABOUT IT
1. Check Your Glory Diet: Are you craving the “sweetness” of attention or praise more than seeking God’s presence? Like honey, a little encouragement is good—but it can’t replace God.
2. The Better Path: Psalm 119 reminds us that living by God's Word leads to a full life. What would it look like for you to choose obedience over popularity today?
3. Following the Way: Jesus didn’t say He shows the way—He is the way. What areas of your life are you still trying to lead instead of letting Jesus guide?

BOTTOM LINE
When we stop chasing our own glory and start walking in God’s way, we find the real peace and purpose we’ve been searching for. Jesus isn’t just a part of life—He is life.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, thank You for reminding me that I don’t need to make life all about me. Help me to stop craving attention and start craving more of You. Teach me to walk in Your truth and trust that following Jesus is the best way to live. Fill me with Your peace and guide my steps every day. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
