“Like snow in summer or rain in harvest, so honor is not fitting for a fool… A whip for the horse, a bridle for the donkey, and a rod for the back of fools.” — Proverbs 26:1,3

“You have dealt well with your servant, O Lord, according to your word… If your law had not been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction.” — Psalm 119:65,92

“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” — John 16:33

Sometimes life feels totally upside down—like snow falling in July or rain ruining a long-awaited game day. That’s how Proverbs 26 describes the chaos that comes from foolishness and the consequences it brings. On the flip side, Psalm 119 reminds us that even when things are hard, delighting in God’s Word gives us stability and purpose.

Jesus takes it even further in John 16, promising peace in the middle of all the crazy. Not because everything is perfect, but because He has already won. As a teen, it’s easy to feel the pressure of school, friends, and figuring out life—but God offers wisdom, discipline, and deep peace in the middle of it all.

THINK ABOUT IT

1. Foolish or Faithful? Proverbs points out how foolishness leads to destruction. Are there any areas in your life where you’re resisting wisdom—maybe in relationships, school habits, or attitude?

2. Delight in God’s Word: Psalm 119 talks about loving God’s commands even in hard times. What helps you enjoy God’s Word instead of seeing it as just another thing on your to-do list?

3. Jesus Has Overcome: In John 16, Jesus doesn’t promise an easy life—He promises victory through Him. What’s one stress or challenge you can give to Jesus today, trusting that He’s already overcome it?
