“Like a sparrow in its flitting, like a swallow in its flying, a curse that is causeless does not alight.” — Proverbs 26:2
“Oh how I love your law! It is my meditation all the day.” — Psalm 119:97
“Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth.” — John 17:17

Sometimes it feels like the world throws labels, insults, and expectations at you like darts. People say things that sting or try to define who you are. But God’s Word says that empty words don’t have to stick—just like a bird flying aimlessly, a curse without cause won’t land (Proverbs 26:2). When you root yourself in truth, the lies lose power. That’s why the psalmist says he loves God’s Word—it gives life, wisdom, and direction (Psalm 119:97).
And in John 17, Jesus prays for His followers (that includes you!) to be made holy and strong through the truth—God’s Word.

THINK ABOUT IT
1. Words That Don’t Stick: Have you ever felt weighed down by something someone said about you? God’s Word says not every word has power—only truth does. What labels have you believed that God wants to free you from?
2. Love the Word: The psalmist didn’t just read the Bible—he loved it. What would it look like to enjoy God’s Word like your favorite song or series? How can you start making it part of your everyday life?
3. Set Apart by Truth: Jesus prayed that we would be “sanctified” in the truth. That means being set apart—shaped by God’s reality, not the world’s noise. What areas of your life need God’s truth to shine brighter?

BOTTOM LINE
God’s Word is your anchor when the world tries to shake your identity. His truth is unchanging, powerful, and personal—and it’s what sets you free.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, thank You for giving me Your Word to guide, protect, and strengthen me. When people speak things that don’t line up with Your truth, help me to remember who I am in You. Give me a heart that loves Your Word and a mind that is shaped by it. Keep me close to You and set me apart for Your purposes. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
