“Prepare your work outside; get everything ready for yourself in the field, and after that build your house.” — Proverbs 24:27
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” — John 1:1

Ever feel like you're stuck waiting for your real life to begin? Like you're in a holding pattern, waiting for your moment to shine? Whether it’s the dream job, the big game, or the right friends to come along, it’s easy to think “I’ll start living for God when __ happens.” But Proverbs 24:27 reminds us that preparation is part of God’s plan.
Even Jesus, the Word who was God, spent thirty quiet years before stepping into public ministry. His light was always there, but He waited for the right time to shine. That doesn’t mean those years were wasted—they were part of the preparation.

THINK ABOUT IT
1. Preparation Matters: Are you making space now for what God might want to do in your life later? Whether it’s building good habits, practicing honesty, or spending time in Scripture, your current choices are laying the foundation for what comes next.
2. Jesus Is the Light: How can you reflect His light where you are right now? You don’t need a stage to shine. You can bring Jesus’ light to your family, your friends, or even your school—just by being kind, honest, and willing to serve.
3. Small Steps Count: Don’t overlook the “field work.” The unseen moments—studying, praying, listening, growing—are what make you strong enough to handle the spotlight later. Even Jesus had a season of preparation.

BOTTOM LINE
God prepares us before He positions us. Don’t rush the process. Even in the quiet seasons, He’s doing something powerful. Let His light grow in you now, so when the moment comes, you’re ready to shine.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, Thank You for reminding me that preparation has a purpose. Help me not to waste the time You’ve given me, even when it feels slow or unnoticed. Teach me to seek You in the everyday moments and to reflect Your light wherever I go. I want to be ready for whatever You’ve planned for me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
