“The sluggard buries his hand in the dish; it wears him out to bring it back to his mouth. The sluggard is wiser in his own eyes than seven men who can answer sensibly.” — Proverbs 26:15–16
“For the great day of their wrath has come, and who can stand?” — Revelation 6:17
“They shall hunger no more, neither thirst anymore... For the Lamb in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd, and he will guide them to springs of living water.” — Revelation 7:16–17

Ever feel like doing literally anything is just too much? Like you're so tired, you can't even be bothered to scroll through your phone, let alone finish your homework or spend time with God? In Proverbs 26, the sluggard is so lazy, he can’t even feed himself. It sounds extreme, but the point is this: laziness can sneak in and rob us of purpose, action, and even truth.
Meanwhile, in Revelation 6, we’re reminded of how serious life is—judgment is coming. But then Revelation 7 gives hope. For those who follow Jesus, He promises rest, care, and satisfaction that goes beyond physical hunger or thirst. When you feel tired of trying, remember this: God offers a life worth the effort.

THINK ABOUT IT
1. Too Tired or Just Unmotivated? Laziness doesn’t always look like lying around—it can be avoidance, procrastination, or making excuses. Is there something you’ve been avoiding that you know God wants you to face?
2. Eternal Perspective: Revelation 6 is intense, showing God’s judgment. How does remembering that Jesus will return someday change the way you live today?
3. God's Rest is Real: Revelation 7 shows the reward of those who follow Jesus—they are taken care of forever. Are you finding your strength and purpose in Him, or trying to do life your own way?

BOTTOM LINE
God calls us to live with purpose—not passivity. When life feels heavy or hard, He gives us the strength to press on and promises eternal rest in His presence.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, sometimes I feel tired, unmotivated, or stuck in a loop of doing nothing. Help me not to waste the life You've given me. Give me strength to move, wisdom to act, and a heart that seeks You first. Thank You for the promise of Your rest and presence. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
