“Whoever meddles in a quarrel not his own is like one who takes a passing dog by the ears.” — Proverbs 26:17
“Deliver me, O LORD, from lying lips, from a deceitful tongue.” — Psalm 120:2
“The rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands...” — Revelation 9:20

Ever been tempted to jump into someone else’s drama? Maybe your friends are arguing, or someone posted something wild online, and suddenly you feel the urge to pick a side or throw in your opinion. But Proverbs 26:17 compares meddling in a fight that’s not yours to grabbing a stray dog by the ears—basically, a really bad idea. In Psalm 120, we hear someone crying out to God for peace in the middle of lies and conflict.
And in Revelation 8–9, things get intense: God’s judgment is unfolding, but people still refuse to change. Put all that together, and the message is loud and clear—be careful about what you get involved in and pay attention to your own heart first.

THINK ABOUT IT
1. Mind Your Boundaries: Are you getting involved in things that aren’t your responsibility? Proverbs warns that meddling can lead to unnecessary trouble. Think before you speak or post—are you helping, or just stirring the pot?
2. Pray for Peace: Psalm 120 reminds us that we can call out to God when lies and drama surround us. Instead of trying to fix everything yourself, what would it look like to hand it over to Him?
3. Change Starts with You: Revelation 9 shows us that even after major warnings, people refused to repent. Is there anything in your life that God might be asking you to change—but you’re ignoring it?

BOTTOM LINE
Not every battle is yours to fight. Focus on keeping peace, staying out of unnecessary drama, and letting God work on your heart.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, help me know when to speak and when to stay out of things. Give me wisdom to avoid getting caught up in drama that doesn’t involve me. Teach me to be a peacemaker and to listen when You call me to change. I want to follow You more closely every day. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
