“Be not one of those who give pledges, who put up security for debts. If you have nothing with which to pay, why should your bed be taken from under you?” — Proverbs 22:26–27
“I will not set before my eyes anything that is worthless. I hate the work of those who fall away; it shall not cling to me.” — Psalm 101:3
“If anyone of the common people sins unintentionally in doing any one of the things that by the Lord's commandments ought not to be done…he shall bring for his offering a goat…so the priest shall make atonement for him, and he shall be forgiven.” — Leviticus 4:27–28, 31

You’ve probably heard the phrase, “Don’t sign up for something you can’t handle.” Proverbs warns against making promises—especially financial ones—that could leave you broke or trapped. Psalm 101 shows King David’s commitment to living with integrity, refusing to let evil influence his heart.
Leviticus reminds us that sin, even unintentional, has consequences—but God makes a way to be made right with Him. Together, these verses call us to live wisely, guard our hearts, and remember God's mercy when we fall short. Whether it’s debt, bad habits, or wrong choices, God doesn’t want us stuck—He wants us free.

THINK ABOUT IT
1. Guard Your Commitments: Are you quick to say “yes” without thinking? Proverbs 22:26–27 challenges us to be wise about what we agree to. It’s not just about money—it’s about any choice that could end up controlling you.
2. What Are You Watching? Psalm 101:3 is a solid check for our screens and minds. What we let in influences who we become. Would you be proud of what you’re feeding your soul with?
3. Grace for Mistakes: Leviticus 4 shows that even accidental sins matter to God—but so does His forgiveness. We’re not perfect, but God provides a way to be clean again through Jesus.
