“Do not eat the bread of a man who is stingy; do not desire his delicacies, for he is like one who is inwardly calculating. ‘Eat and drink!’ he says to you, but his heart is not with you. You will vomit up the morsels that you have eaten, and waste your pleasant words.” — Proverbs 23:6–8
“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases.” — Psalm 103:2–3
“For I am the Lord your God. Consecrate yourselves therefore, and be holy, for I am holy.” — Leviticus 11:44

Let’s be honest: not everything that looks good on the outside is actually good for us. Whether it’s food, music, social media, or even certain people—there’s a lot out there that can seem harmless or even appealing but actually messes with our hearts and minds. Proverbs 23 warns us about being influenced by people who might seem generous or cool but don’t have good intentions. Leviticus 11–12 reminds us that God called His people to be set apart—to live differently. And in Psalm 103, we’re reminded of what really satisfies: the goodness, forgiveness, and healing of God.

THINK ABOUT IT
1. Guard Your Influences: Who are you “eating with”? Are there people or situations in your life that seem fun or exciting but are pulling you away from what’s right?
2. Feed on What Heals: Psalm 103 says God forgives and heals. What are you feeding your soul with—God’s truth or the world’s distractions?
3. Set Apart for a Reason: God’s call to be holy isn’t about being perfect—it’s about being different for Him. What’s one area of your life where you could make a cleaner, healthier, more God-honoring choice?

BOTTOM LINE
Not everything that looks good is good for you. God calls you to be wise about what you let into your life—so you can live healed, whole, and holy in Him.
