Eight of Wands

Welcome to season 6 of this podcast, where I am talking all about the Suit of Wands. I’ll be going through each card in the suit, one per episode.

What we explore in this episode:

  • Pictures from the decks I talked about today referenced from left to right:

The Eight of Wands is a card of movement, communication, and change, often happening quickly. This episode dives into how that fast-paced energy can feel liberating, overwhelming, or even out of our control.

From butterflies and blooming roses to speeding roadrunners and flying wands, the imagery reminds us of the kinetic chaos and creative potential that comes with taking action and riding the wave of momentum.

But what happens when things move so quickly we forget to pause and ask: do I even want what I’m rushing toward?

This card invites us to consider how we act when things are in motion, and what it means to let go of control when so much is still uncertain.

If you haven't listened to my other seasons yet, go check them out!

In the first season, I introduced tarot by talking about oracle vs tarot cards, myths of tarot, how to find a deck, reading for yourself vs others, and much more.

In seasons 2 and 3, I went through the major arcana and the four suits, one per episode.

In season 4, I talked all about Tarot in Pop Culture and examined representations of Tarot in videogames, TV shows, movies, and more.

In season 5, I went through 13 Common Tarot Spreads, what they are, how many cards, and an example of what it looks like to work through one.

    Today's Tarot Pull

From the Therapists Who Tarot Deck, prompts by Dreya Blume and images by Rebecca Bloom, I pulled The Sun, a card of good fortune.

    Reflective prompts on this card:

This card asks us to stay present and stay bright, even when things feel fast or unclear. The sun reminds us that we can root into optimism and clarity, even when life speeds up around us.
