Nine of Wands

Welcome to season 6 of this podcast, where I am talking all about the Suit of Wands. I’ll be going through each card in the suit, one per episode.

What we explore in this episode:

Pictures from the decks I talked about today referenced from left to right:

This card is a classic “wounded warrior” archetype. It shows up when we’ve been through a lot and are still standing. Whether you’re holding your last line of defense or learning to trust again after a hard season, this card asks:

How are you showing up for yourself in the face of fatigue, fear, and doubt?

We talk about the visual metaphors across several decks, including plants being uprooted, bones healing slowly, and watching out for when passion turns into paranoia.

We also explore how defensive posturing can get in the way of clarity, and why building clear boundaries, especially when you’re tired, is the most loving thing you can do for yourself and others.

If you haven't listened to my other seasons yet, go check them out!

In the first season, I introduced tarot by talking about oracle vs tarot cards, myths of tarot, how to find a deck, reading for yourself vs others, and much more.

In seasons 2 and 3, I went through the major arcana and the four suits, one per episode.

In season 4, I talked all about Tarot in Pop Culture and examined representations of Tarot in videogames, TV shows, movies, and more.

In season 5, I went through 13 Common Tarot Spreads, what they are, how many cards, and an example of what it looks like to work through one.

Today's Tarot Pull:

From the Therapists Who Tarot Deck, I pulled The Wheel of Fortune.

This card is a reminder that life moves in cycles. You don’t control what comes up on the wheel, but you do get to choose how you respond to it.
