Description

In today’s episode, we’re exploring the Samhain Tarot Spread —a four-card ritual designed for the witch’s new year. As the veil thins, we honor our ancestors, face our fears, and listen for messages from beyond.

The Samhain Tarot SpreadSamhain (pronounced saa-win) marks the moment when the veil between worlds thins—the season of remembrance, endings, and deep reflection. It’s a time to honor those who came before, to release old stories, and to listen to what whispers beyond the veil.

While the world calls it Halloween, witches know it as the season of reconnection and rebirth, when death becomes the doorway back to life. As the veil thins, remembrance and release entwine. This four-card spread helps you honor your lineage, see clearly through the mist, and compost outdated stories so renewal can take root.

The Prompts:

  1. How to Honor Your Ancestors - What offering, story, or act of remembrance can bring you closer to them?

  2. How to See Through the Veil - What intuitive practice will help you hear what your guides are whispering?

  3. Fears to Face and Release - Which shadow asks to be witnessed and loved into transformation?

  4. A Message from Your Ancestors - Guidance, blessing, or reassurance from beyond the veil.

    1. How to honor your ancestors - Nine of Cups (Reversed). Something is blocking the flow of pleasure and satisfaction. Your ancestors may be asking you to return to simple joys—movement, self-care, food, or art—as ways of remembering them. Honor your lineage through pleasure, not just ritual.
    2. How to see through the veil - The Sun. Clarity can be blinding at first. The Sun reminds you that revelation comes through warmth and illumination, not fear. Your ancestors bring joy and knowledge, guiding you toward a new, radiant self beyond transformation.
    3. Fears to face and release - King of Swords (Reversed). The fear of uncertainty. Of not knowing what’s next. This reversal invites surrender. Let go of the need to plan every step ahead. True wisdom arises in flexibility, not control.
    4. A message from your ancestors - Ten of Swords (Reversed). The worst is over. What feels like an ending is really a clearing for rebirth. Your ancestors remind you that even when the path feels empty or unclear, you are in the sacred in-between—the composting of the old to make way for the new.
