Six of Cups

Welcome to season 9 of this podcast, where I am talking all about the Suit of Cups. I’ll be going through each card in the suit, one per episode.

What we explore in this episode:

In this episode, the Six of Cups brings us into soft, sacred terrain: memory, gratitude, and the sacredness of feeling. It reminds us of the beauty we’ve known before, and encourages us to reach for it again, not as an escape, but as an anchor. Nostalgia, when grounded, can be a balm. It can guide us toward rituals, environments, or relationships that bring us back to ourselves.

But this card also challenges us not to romanticize the past to the point of avoidance. We’re asked to reclaim what was sweet without bypassing the full truth of what was. The Six of Cups is both a comfort and a mirror: What did you need then that you still need now? And how can you offer that to yourself with compassion?

Today's Tarot Pull:

From The Citadel: A Fantasy Oracleby Fen Inkwright, I pulled The Guide (reversed). This is a card that usually symbolizes Inheritance and Collection. Reversed, this card honors the perseverance it took to navigate struggle without much help from others. It acknowledges the internal grit and self-trust built from past hardship.

This card asks: How do you want to guide yourself forward, now that you know what you know? Can you trust that your past self gave you enough to start again?
