Description

Welcome back to Every Day Tarot where Season 15 is all about tarot and crystals, and today we talk about Amber, ancient tree resin turned solidified sunlight.

Amber is tied to protection, healing, courage, attraction, and abundance. Long carried as a sacred talisman, it uplifts the spirit, fortifies the aura, and connects us with ancestral memory.

In this episode, we explore its myth, magic, and its resonance with tarot archetypes of vitality, transformation, and solar strength.

What we explore in this episode:

Amber: Myth, Magic & MeaningAmber, though not a mineral but fossilized tree resin, has been revered since the Paleolithic era. Known as “solidified sunlight,” it was seen as a gift of the Ocean Mother, often washing ashore and gleaming like gold. In Baltic and Norse myth, amber was called the “tears of the sun” and linked to the goddess Freya, who wore an amber necklace and wept amber tears.

In magical practice, Amber has been used to:

Amber is especially sacred when paired with Jet, together called the stones of the High Priestess. As a fossil, it awakens ancient memory and the wisdom of ancestors, connecting us to cycles of death, renewal, and the Crone archetype.

Astrologically, Amber resonates with the Sun and the sign of Leo, radiating vitality, courage, and creative fire. Its elemental ties to Fire and Spirit bring clarity, warmth, and resilience.

Amber & the TarotAmber’s energy shines through the Major Arcana as Strength, embodying courage and gentle solar vitality; as The Chariot, driving fiery will and forward motion; as The Sun, radiating joy and clarity; and as Death, carrying ancestral wisdom through endings and transformation.

In the Minor Arcana, Amber connects with the Wands suit, especially the Witch of Wands (the Knight of Wands), expressing erotic creativity, sex magic, and embodied passion.
