A five-card tarot spread (from Gabriela Herstik’s Sacred Sex) to help uncover your unique path of sacred sexuality
5-Card Finding Your Path of Sacred Sex SpreadWhat You’ll Need:
Your favorite tarot deck
Instructions:
Set your intention. Before shuffling, I take a few deep breaths and focus on my question: Which path of sacred sex is right for me? You can make it more specific if you like — for example: “How can I embody my erotic power? Or what wants to be awakened in my sacred sexuality?”
Shuffle and cut your deck. While shuffling, I hold my question in mind and let my body relax. When I feel ready, I cut the deck however feels right.
Pull five cards. I usually lay them out in a straight line from left to right, but feel free to arrange them however feels intuitive.
Here’s what each card represents:
Card 1: What is my inspiration for my path of sacred sex?
Card 2: Where in myself can I connect to this?
Card 3: How can I begin exploring this unique path?
Card 4: What do I need to keep in mind as I do so?
Card 5: What theme or message can I carry with me?
Reflect and journal. Once the cards are out, I take time to look at them together and notice immediate thoughts, body sensations, emotions, and any symbolic meanings that arise. I write down everything that feels important, even if it doesn’t make complete sense at first.
Integrate the messages. I close my eyes and spend a few moments imagining the cards’ messages weaving into my body and spirit. Sometimes I’ll pull a final clarifying or “closing” card, or turn this into a short meditation or movement practice to ground the insights.
Optional: Make it a ritual
You can deepen the experience by lighting candles, wearing something that feels empowering, playing music that helps you connect to your body, or adding affirmations or breathwork before or after your reading.

After your reading, you might explore:
What surprised me most about these cards?
Where do I feel these messages in my body?
What desires or emotions came up that I want to honor more fully?
Here’s what came up today: The Goddess of Love Tarot Deck:
1: What is my inspiration for my path of sacred sex? I pulled the 5 of Pentacles reversed — a sign that I’m moving out of pain and isolation and stepping into heart-led healing.
2: Where in myself can I connect to this? 8 of Swords reversed — clarity is coming in, and I’m seeing the truth more clearly than before.
3: How can I begin exploring this unique path? 4of Swords — by resting, integrating, and taking the time to truly listen to my body and heart.
4: What do I need to keep in mind as I do so? Crone of Cups reversed — to watch out for getting stuck in fantasy or nostalgia, and to stay grounded in what’s real.
5: What theme or message can I carry with me? Crone of Pentacles — embodying grounded, wise, earthy sensuality; trusting the deep wisdom of my body and my connection to nature.
Today's Tarot Pull:
From Anima Mundi Tarot Deck, I pulled The Page of Wands (reversed). This speaks to creative blocks, a lack of direction, or feeling stuck.
Reflective prompts on this card:
Where in my life am I feeling uninspired or disconnected from my inner fire?
In what ways am I ignoring or dismissing my own passions or curiosities?
How can I reconnect with my sense of wonder and possibility?
