Description

Saki may be my favorite pre-WW1 horror writer. His brevity and humor are unmatched, and he's not afraid to write about monsters. There aren't a lot of great short stories about monsters, but "Gabriel-Ernest" is a notable exception.

October has given us a tableful of stories to feast on, and this is our dessert. Thanks so much for coming on this midnight ride through Halloween with me.

I didn't have access to my customary recording space for this, btw, so you might hear the witchy screams of my chickens and the industrial sounds of a rabbit at his water bottle in the background. If this enhances your experience, you have my permission to pretend I did this on purpose.

This is my favorite time of the year. I hope your Halloween is full of screams and dreams, dear friends.

My theme music is "The Door," by Vivek Abhishek. As always, I encourage you to check out his royalty-free music channel here: https://www.youtube.com/c/VIVEKABHISHEK
