The Identity Shield: A Creative Path to Self-Discovery
Identity is an ongoing journey, shaped by personal experiences, social interactions, and cultural influences. It evolves over time, incorporating our beliefs, values, roles, and aspirations. Understanding and developing our identity is not a one-time event, but an ongoing process that requires reflection, exploration, and sometimes, even struggle.
To bring this process to life, we recently introduced an activity called the Identity Shield. This exercise blends creativity with self-reflection, offering a fun yet meaningful way to explore personal identity. The shield itself is divided into four sections, each representing a different aspect of identity:
Once the shield is completed, the next step involves crafting a personal motto or mantra, summarizing the best version of oneself. This can be a simple phrase like "I am strong and kind" or something unique that resonates with personal values.

Finally, each individual reflects on their superpower, imagining a heroic ability to share with the world, from spreading kindness to solving problems or lifting others up.
