Welcome to Lights, Camera, Remake, where we had strong feelings about some giant lizard movies.

 “If nuclear testing continues then someday, somewhere in the world another Godzilla may appear” - Prof. Tanabe, Godzilla. There are currently 38 Godzilla movies, with two more on the way.

Godzilla (1954)After a dinosaur-like beast - awoken from undersea hibernation by atom bomb testing - ravages Tokyo, a scientist must decide if his similarly dangerous weapon should be used to destroy it.

Godzilla: Minus One (2023):

Post-war Japan is at its lowest point when a new crisis emerges in the form of a giant monster, baptized in the horrific power of the atomic bomb.***

On each episode we’ll look at a movie and its remake, or sometimes a movie and its sequel, to determine if Hollywood rehashed it for a reason or for a cash grab.
