"There's just no originality anymore!"
Sequels, remakes, franchises. The old Hollywood adage for many years has been rinse, recycle and repeat. But is it always a bad thing? Our podcast looks to break it down and see if there's merit to many famous sequels and remakes.
On each episode we’ll look at a movie and its remake, or sometimes a movie and its sequel, to determine if Hollywood rehashed it for a reason or for a cash grab.
We start with an introduction to podcast hosts Erica Strout and Bridget LaMonica. We talk about why we wanted to do a podcast (when everyone and their mother seemed to be making a podcast), comfort and guilt watching movies, and why we have varying viewpoints on a film like Midsommar.
