Description

Today's episode is the second installment in a three-part series of talks that were given at our recent Parish mission. Begin lent, right? A Parish mission is a special opportunity to renew our faith and deepen our relationship with the Lord. This year, we were blessed to have as our mission preacher, Father Patrick Mary Briscoe. Father Patrick is a Dominican friar of the province of Saint Joseph and the editor of Our Sunday Visitor magazine. He is also a co-host of the popular podcast Godsplaning.

Fr. Patrick completed his initial studies in theology at the Dominican House of Studies in Washington, D. C. where he earned a license in Moral Theology. Father Patrick is a national Eucharistic preacher, a work he has undertaken to support the USCCB-led Eucharistic revival.

The overall theme for these three talks is based on the prayer O Sacred Banquet, composed by Saint Thomas Aquinas, the great Dominican saint and doctor of the Church. In this second talk, Father Patrick invites us to recognize the many graces of the present, especially the graces and effects of making a worthy Holy Communion. How is it that receiving the Eucharist changes us? What are the graces that the Lord wants us to receive through Holy Communion?

This podcast is brought to you by St. Gertrude Parish in Cincinnati, OH, featuring preaching and homilies by the Dominican Friars of the Province of St. Joseph.
