From Switzerland to Japan: An Artist’s Path — Andrea Giuseppe Corciulo
This time, I had the pleasure of sitting down with
Andrea Giuseppe Corciulo, a Swiss artist with Italian roots whose journey has taken him from his first exhibition in Japan back in 1992 to his current project at Swissnex Osaka.
We talked about his artistic path — from painting and music to his unique collage technique using old books, light, and shadow. Andrea shared his impressions of Japan, the contrasts he observes between tradition and modernity, and how these encounters shape his work.
🌸 What makes this episode special is Andrea’s reflection on freedom in art, his search for balance between colors, forms, and unexpected connections, and the way Japan continues to inspire him decades after his first visit.
📍 Exhibition You can discover his exhibition “Beyond Gravity” at Swissnex Osaka until
