Episode 45: Doug and Smashley go over some older music and movies in this episode. There’s a lot of good new music and film but it’s nice to go back over some oldies and watch some movies from the watchlist.

The Muffs played that good old rock and roll back in the 90s. This has a backbeat, which I can neither describe nor define, but it’s there. You can start your journey here: The Muffs - Oh Nina

Do you like songs that build in intensity up to an explosive climax? Silversun Pickups has one of my favorites that does just that. Silversun Pickups - Lazy Eye

The Murderbot Diaries starts with “All Systems Red” by Martha Wells. My journey has begun. It’s a fun read: The Murderbot Diaries by Martha Wells

“Fifty First Dates” has elements of Adam Sandler infantile humor with a little bit of heart, and some of the gags don’t hold up, but Drew Barrymore elevates it. It’s a fun romcom, just don’t dig too deeply into it or you’ll quickly get to “yeah, this isn’t even close to realistic” pretty quickly.
