Description

Book of Acts, chapter 7, records Stephen's lengthy speech to the Sanhedrin. In his address, Stephen recounts the history of the Jewish people, beginning with God's call to Abraham in Mesopotamia and continuing through the stories of Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, and the tabernacle in the wilderness. Stephen highlights instances of disobedience and rejection of God's messengers by their ancestors. The speech culminates in Stephen rebuking his audience for resisting the Holy Spirit and for the betrayal and murder of Jesus Christ, ultimately leading to his stoning.
