Description

Acts 12 recounts King Herod's persecution of the early church, including the execution of James. Subsequently, Herod imprisoned Peter, intending a public trial after Passover, but the church fervently prayed for his release. Miraculously, an angel freed Peter from his chains and the prison, leading to astonishment among the believers gathered at Mary's house. The chapter also details Herod's death after he accepted praise due only to God. Ultimately, despite the persecution, the word of God continued to spread and grow.
