Description

Upon arrival in Malta, Paul is bitten by a snake but suffers no ill effects, leading the islanders to initially believe he is a god and resulting in his healing of Publius's father and others. He then continues his journey and finally reaches Rome, where he is permitted to live under guard. Paul gathers the local Jewish leaders to explain his situation, asserting he has done nothing against Jewish customs and is appealing to Caesar due to their objections. While some Jews are convinced by his teachings about Jesus from the Law and Prophets, others are not, leading Paul to declare that God's salvation is now offered to the Gentiles, who will listen. For two years in Rome, Paul openly preaches about the kingdom of God and Jesus Christ to all who visit him.
