I don’t know about you but I am really feeling the end-of-the-year strain. I’ve had enough and if I were able to call it a day right now and do nothing for the remainder of the year, I totally would. As each week has passed, every Sunday I say to myself, "I'm one more week closer to the holidays. Just one more week. Keep pushing!" And for what? For me, the holidays are going to be a very chaotic time shuffling between my parents and my boyfriend's parents' places plus I actually didn’t take any time off during the holidays so I’m not sure why I’m counting down to the end of the year, as I will have little to no downtime.
Maybe I’ll magically reset on January 1st and have all this newfound energy but I have a sneaking suspicion that most definitely will not happen. So this week as I told myself yet again, keep pushing through the week. A little voice in my head said “no more, I need a break.” And that message began to amplify throughout my day until I realized that this is my body's way of saying, I need a mental health day.
In this episode, we're chatting on how to realize you need a mental health day, how to understand and advocate for when you need a day and what to actually do when you take it.
