In this episode, Henry and Preston talk to Coach John LaFontaine. They discuss John’s journey from player to coach, how faith plays a role in a battle of identity, and how we’re all called to help others find their mission by first finding our own.
John LaFontaine was born in St. Louis, MO. Growing up alongside his brother, Pat LaFontaine, the two of them played competitive hockey in high level leagues, until his brother went pro. Struggling to find his own path, he found himself called to coach and lead by faith. After coaching numerous teams in the NAHL, AWHL, NPHL, and USHL, he now coaches Cranbrook Schools Varsity High School team in Metro Detroit, where he’s won numerous Coach of the Year awards, and a state championship.
