We hear the words "patriarchal" and "patriarch" a lot in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, but rarely hear "matriarchal" or "matriarch". Does that mean women in the Church of Jesus Christ are oppressed? Or is there a chance that it is actually in our favor as women to not have as visible and structured roles in the Church?
