From the need to being understood by others and the need to understand others, Sam explores the ways in which we dynamically limit our lives, and keep ourselves stuck in other people's realities rather than creating from our own.
"How many of us are not willing to step into our own difference because we're too busy trying to be understood by other people?"
Sam highlights how important it is to embrace your difference, to not try to fit in and to choose people who have allowance of every part of you.
"We diminish so much of us in order to be understood."
Sam also speaks on how tied up we become in other people's worlds when we try to understand them, and how stuck we become when we're trying to figure out 'the why' of what people choose.
"Don't stay stuck waiting on the why and trying to figure it out, because you will stay stuck, and you will stay attached to the person or situation."
