You can avoid others who put you down, discourage you, and make you feel unworthy.
You can't avoid yourself.
The words you use toward yourself matter.
This isn't to suggest delusion or hiding from any truth, but only to be kind.
Be kind to yourself.
You will never be perfect.
Why set that as the standard?
Work to be better, of course.
Understand, though, that it won’t always go how you’d like.
You’ll fail.
You’ll struggle.
You’ll make mistakes.
Often, repeatedly.
That’s okay.
Don’t beat yourself up.
Rarely is that ever productive.
It might promote progress in some ways.
Yet, how much might it also prevent?
Beratement isn’t your only option.
Acknowledge your flaws.
If you’d like to improve, do the work.
Do that work, though, not in an effort to be worthy.
Do it because you already are worthy.
Do it with kindness.
You’ve got this.
