Day 224 | Jeremiah 23:33–24:10; Jeremiah 29:1–31:14
God uses a vision of two baskets of figs to illustrate His message to Judah: those taken into exile are the good figs—preserved and protected for restoration—while those left in the land will face judgment. Through Jeremiah, God tells the exiles to settle, build, and even seek the prosperity of Babylon. Despite their hardship, God assures them of His plans for their good. Jeremiah 29:11, often quoted, reminds us that even in our hardest seasons, God remains in control and faithful to bring hope, restoration, and a future.
