We see the long-awaited moment when David is finally made king over all of Israel—15 years after being anointed. Instead of rushing ahead, David continues his pattern of seeking God before making decisions, winning battles only after God gives the go-ahead. But we also see what happens when David skips this step—he fails to consult God about moving the Ark, leading to tragedy. Through it all, we’re reminded that even when our intentions are good, we must still do things God’s way. His holiness matters, and His Word must guide our every step.
