Day 119 | 2 Samuel 17:15-29; Psalm 3; Psalm 63; 2 Samuel 18:1–19:30
In today’s reading, we witness David’s heartbreak and deep trust as he flees from his rebellious son Absalom. Through 2 Samuel 17–18, Psalm 3, and Psalm 63, we see David worship God from a place of fear and exile, clinging to God's protection even while his own people turn against him. Meanwhile, Absalom’s pride leads to a tragic and ironic death—caught by the very hair he gloried in. These passages show us the danger of pride, the reality of consequence, and the beauty of turning our fears into worship.
