Day 139 | Psalms 79–82
These Psalms are written in the shadow of Jerusalem’s destruction—a consequence of Israel's long disobedience and God's covenant discipline. Yet even in grief, Asaph cries out with hope, asking how long until God restores His people. He remembers Israel as a vine God once planted and tended—and he prays for the Son of Man to come and restore what’s been lost. That prayer finds its answer in Jesus, the true vine. Through Him, broken branches are grafted back in, and restoration becomes possible for all who remain in Him.
