Day 212 | Jeremiah 5:20–6:30; 2 Kings 22:3-20; 2 Chronicles 34:8-28
In Jeremiah 5–6 and 2 Kings 22, we see the deep contrast between God’s people and God’s call. Though the Lord repeatedly calls Israel “my people,” their actions reveal rebellious hearts set against Him. Through Jeremiah, God warns them of judgment, describing their refusal to listen, their disregard for justice, and their stubborn sin. Yet amid the darkness, one young king—Josiah—responds differently. When he hears the lost Book of the Law, he tears his clothes, weeps, and leads his nation in repentance. This episode shows the power of God’s Word to either harden or humble—and reminds us that the choice between resistance and repentance is ours.
