Day 142 | 1 Kings 7:1-51; 2 Chronicles 3:15–4:22
Solomon is at the height of his reign: the temple is majestic, his palace gleams with gold, and peace fills the land. But hidden behind the splendor are small cracks—decisions that go against God’s commands. He marries Pharaoh’s daughter and accumulates vast wealth, two warnings God gave to every king. What begins as compromise soon becomes a pattern. Today’s story invites us to reflect: What small cracks are we tolerating in our own lives? Solomon’s legacy reminds us that unchecked disobedience always grows—and always costs more than we expect.
