Day 126 | 1 Kings 2:1-9; 2 Samuel 23:1-7; 1 Kings 2:10-12; 1 Chronicles 29:26-30; Psalms 4–6; Psalms 8–9, 11
We witness the final moments of one of the greatest kings in Israel’s history—David. As death approaches, David charges his son Solomon with the most important task of all: to walk faithfully with God. We hear David’s last words in 1 Kings 2, a powerful reminder of the responsibility we all carry to obey the Lord. As Solomon takes the throne, David’s legacy is passed on—but so are the consequences of his past. Alongside this historic transition, we reflect through Psalms that capture David’s deep love for God, giving us a glimpse into the heart of a man after God’s own heart.
