Description

In this episode of Daily Devotionals for Nurses, Tola continues walking through Judges 6 and shares what it means to obey God even when you feel unqualified or uncertain.

Tola reminds us that many nurses feel the same way when God places a calling on their hearts. They remember past disobedience, failures, or the weight of their circumstances and wonder, “Could God really use me?” This episode challenges that narrative and encourages you to lean on God for strength, not on your own perceived capacity.

Tola also shares her own story of obedience. From launching the Year of the Nurse of Faith to leading summer school sessions for nurses, she shows how one yes leads to more clarity, new instructions, and provision. Even when things felt heavy or uncertain, God met her with grace and new opportunities.

Gideon asked for a sign. Today, you have something even better. You have the Holy Spirit. The Spirit of truth is available to guide, comfort, and instruct you every step of the way.

Judges 6:15–17
“‘Oh my Lord, how can I save Israel? Indeed my clan is the weakest… and I am the least…’”
“‘If now I have found favor in Your sight, then show me a sign…’”

John 16:7, 13
“It is to your advantage that I go away… when the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth…”

Obedience Despite Insecurity
Gideon felt unqualified, but he obeyed. The call of God is not based on your past. It is based on His purpose.

Your Yes Unlocks the Next Step
Tola shares how one act of obedience led to more clarity, direction, and even income. When you say yes to God, He meets you with more than enough.

Talk to God About the Resistance
When obedience feels hard, talk to God. Tell Him what you are experiencing. He already knows, and He wants to guide you through it.

The Holy Spirit is Your Helper
Unlike Gideon who needed a sign, you have the Holy Spirit. You are not alone in your calling. The Spirit of truth walks with you and speaks what the Father is saying.

Vulnerability Creates Breakthrough
When you open up about your struggle, others are freed to do the same. Healing comes when the truth is shared.
