Was the spread of Christianity in Europe violent or peaceful? Did Christians treat European pagans as others? What happened during the Christian Inquisitions in Europe?  In this engaging debate between Rajiv Malhotra and Eduardo Andino, Rajiv Malhotra (the author of Breaking India, Battle of Sanskrit and Being Different) challenges the assumptions and proclamations about the genesis and composition of the modern West.
Rajiv makes the point that the West is an amalgam of different cultures and people brought together in an uneasy synthesis through lot of violence and bloodshed. Mr. Andino vociferously disputes Rajiv\'s claim and tries to establish that the violence was not as widespread and gory as Rajiv makes it out to be and this is a fascinating back and forth for a long period between them.
The viewer is encouraged to leave in the comments section their views on who they found to be more convincing. Thereafter, both of them move on to discussing the issues of a world without borders, multiculturalism, the march of technology and the inculcation of good values in the American people today.
