\'The Battle for Sanskrit\' book was launched in 2016 at Samskrita Bharati in Bangalore. The book is a critical study on how Sanskrit is dealt with in Western Indology. Rajiv Malhotra analyses the study of Sanskrit through two views, the insider lens and the outsider lens. Insider lens being the view of the practitioner of dharma and the one who considers Sanskrit to be sacred. He also explains how there have been efforts to secularize Sanskrit and remove the element of sacredness. He points out the impending dangers to the civilization on further secularizing and distorting Sanskrit.
