ERIC IS THE OWNER OF "AMERICANASSHOLE.US" All of you are wondering why “Asshole” ... Why “American
Asshole”? Aside from the personal experiences of the many people to
which we have talked. “Asshole” is not typically known for what you
may think it is, a part of the Human anatomy. When we are called an
“Asshole” it’s mainly because we were blunt, or direct in what you had
to say, no sugar coating it or beating around the bush.
When you’re at work and you are given a task, your employer is
expecting that task to be done, following prescribed guidelines and
meeting deadlines. If you’re not meeting those expectations, you are
reminded of your position and the tasks, because your employer needs
this to happen and that it’s your job to do so! If you continue to fail at
the expectation, then you’re fired, no if ands or buts.
There is a story about “Radical Candor,” from the book “How to be
a good Boss.” To sum up the main point, failure lies in the hands of the
employer. If you fail, he fails and the structure falls. So what needs to be
said, needs to be said, and what needs to happen, needs to happen.
Regardless of your feelings, which in turn because of people’s inherent
inability to control their feelings and accept their own shortcomings,
label their boss as an “Asshole.” The same analogy applies in everyday
life. People can’t accept what their being told in most
circumstances/situation. So their feelings take over, and voila... the
speaker/doer is an “Asshole”!
The times we live in now are without doubt full of misguided
views on life and expectancy as well as America and how horrible she is.
Most of us know that these are misguided views, and just like the
misled, we will not budge on what we know to be fact. The only
difference is we are not letting it ruin our lives or control how we react
to the opposition.
In short, we don’t care how you choose to live your life! If you’re
happy then you don’t need to get us to change to keep you happy. If
you need our compliance to make you happy well then, it’s you that
needs to figure out why. Your beliefs will not dictate how I live my life,
as mine should not dictate how you live yours. But when you impose
your beliefs and immoral way on me and mine you will not get away
with it. Standing strong in your views and morals with conviction will
undoubtedly lead to people being offended, thus calling you an
Asshole.
Bringing these 2 titles, these labels together is not just because of
the flow, and how it feels to say. It stems from the history and growth
of all American Men & Women! Americans who in the face of adversity
stood their ground and held steadfast their morals and values.
Yes, our history is tainted but that’s how we grow and if you don’t
like it then piss off. Through many personal experiences of being
named, titled, label an “Asshole” I started to realize that the ones
labeling me were also the ones holding me down. Until I was able to
accept that to be a man, an adult a good person I also had to hurt some
feelings to save myself. This has created something; it has spawned the
idea of a new symbol. A name to who we are and why we cannot falter.
We will love you till our last breath because life needs love no matter
how hard it can be...
A phrase lost in time “Tough Love” is what birthed...
AMERICAN ASSHOLE
